Beer Festival exceeds all expectations

The weather was once again excellent for last Saturdays Mattishall Beer Festival, attracting over 1800 real ale lovers and music lovers alike to South Green Park.

The festival was again a sell out success with hundreds of families enjoying the music, food, good weather and of course, the beers and ciders. Once again, the festival managed to sell out of real ale and cider with Aspall’s Suffolk Cyder proving to be the festival favourite for the 2nd year.

This year the festival’s chosen charity was The Mattishall First Responders who are in need of another mobile response kit which includes a defibrillator for the village.

Festival organizer, Mark Raines said “This year we have been so lucky with the weather, the run up to the festival was looking decidedly damp.” He continued, “ Year on year you can’t beat the atmosphere here, it’s a real party for all the family. Our headline band ‘Dynamite’ really made the audience get up and dance with over 800 / 900 people dancing to the best band we have ever booked for this event... They were so good we've booked them for next year, they're truly an act that is hard to beat.”

The date has been set for next year’s Festival – 31st July 2009
